To Be Or Not To Be Sponsored
Those not holding an American passport will require sponsorship by a firm in order to work in the USA.
For Australian nationals, there are two types of visas – E3 and H.
E3 is the newer visa which allows a certain number of Australians to work in the USA each year. This grants the visa holder two years admission and the right to work in the USA, and is renewable. This privilege also extends to the spouse of the visa holder.
The H-visa allows the visa holder to work in the USA as long as they are employed however does not entitle spouses to work. A fewer number of these visas are granted each year.
