What are your career highlights? |
I was responsible for developing the challenging Japanese market for an international hotel chain and very early on in my career, was able to establish global accounts with large Banking and Finance Institutions such as HSBC and ING. In addition, I successfully expanded the Hong Kong Sales & Marketing team of a leading international institution. I have a track record for successfully pitching for large-scale new projects where others have previously been unsuccessful. |

Where have you worked? |
After completing a BA in Hospitality Management in Switzerland, I began my hospitality career in Asia. Working for a international hotel in Hong Kong in Public Relations provided me with a real opportunity to learn about media relationships and marketing communications. However it was not until I joined The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong in 1997 that I realised my calling was in Sales & Marketing. Managing our top corporate accounts and developing the Japanese market was a challenge I was ready to take on. Those Japanese lessons certainly paid off. In 2000 I joined Marlow International, a leading global provider of promotions for large international organisations managing accounts such as Cathay Pacific Airlines, United Airlines, HSBC, Hawley & Hazel and Gillette. After two years I was promoted to Sales Manager for Hong Kong leading a team of sales and marketing executives. Finally settling back in Sydney, I spent five years managing and rebranding a hotel. Other main areas of work included recruiting staff, selection, training and development, industrial and employee relations, employee services, reward management and human resource planning.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? |
My love of food takes me to wonderful places. So when I’m not eating, salsa dancing or trying to impersonate Maria Sharapova, I’m at the theatre enjoying great entertainment. |
|
What is your approach to life? |
A good balance between work and play is essential. We only live once so we need to make the most of what we do and enjoy every moment. |
|
What gives you the most satisfaction? |
It may surprise you to hear me say this ... but any and all food! In all seriousness though, what I find most satisfying is hearing that a candidate has happily settled into their new role overseas. Drawing from my own experience of moving and living overseas, I appreciate that it is a big step for anyone, in fact daunting for many, so it is very satisfying to know that a person that I have helped is adapting well to their new surroundings and new job. |
